Cindy Crawford

Cynthia Ann Crawford was born February 20, 1966. She is an American actress, model and a TV host. In the 80s and 90s, she was a supermodel of renown, a prominent presence on magazines and runways and also in fashion campaigns. Then, she branched out into acting and business ventures. Her sophomore year at high school saw her get a call from a local apparel store about modeling work. Later, she discovered the call was made as a prank by two of her students. Crawford was one of the high school girls recruited by a different store, and also did a fashion shoot. Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford during her junior year to photograph her. The assignment included shooting with Crawford for the magazine. Her enthusiastic feedback and the photograph convinced her to start modeling. She began her career with a small agency. Elite Model Management bought it soon after she signed. In 1983, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest at the age of 17 and was selected for the national finals.
