Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. She made her debut on the huge screen on Sex Traffic by Channel 4, for which the British Academy Television Award was given for the Best Actress. Fluently speaks French, German and English. Her father, a teacher of theatre at one of Romania's top drama schools, is also an instructor in theatre. The actress won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 in the Mangalia Young Actor Gala. She was recognized as an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. She starred in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 luni 3 saptamani e 2 days" (4 Months Three Weeks And Two Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. It also received two other awards, The Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Additionally, she was the child character in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. She portrayed Yasim Awar in BBC's 5-episode The Last Enemy miniseries.
